Red Rocks Amphitheatre: the quintessential mecca of what you play if you've made it as a Rockstar with a capital "R." Simply browse their upcoming events calendar, and you will see a veritable cornucopia of music royalty. This ranges from classic legends like Willie Nelson and Steve Miller band - to new legends like Soundgarden and A Perfect Circle. This gigantic, and visually stunning venue is a treat to play for any seasoned band. Last week, the Denver and Boulder House bands became one of those bands and played Film on the Rocks, an evening of music and cinematic awesomeness featuring the showing of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World!
Not only did they rock the non-existent roof off the house with their amazing performance alone, they were joined by music greats Vinnie Appice, famed Dio and Black Sabbath drummer as well as Andy Rok, guitarist and vocal genius of Flobots.
Weren't able to make it out to this epic event? Never fear. Aside from from Boulder Weekly deeming the School of Rockers' redition of "Purple Rain" a "performance Prince would have been proud of," KWGN Denver was there to cover the 6,000+ attended show with a lovely intro to the kick off performance.
We've also got a myriad of amazing photos and a full video gallery documenting the performances of a night that will not soon be forgotten.
